2025 Scholarship Form

Bud Wagner – Donatella and Ken Neumann Memorial Scholarship
2025 Music Scholarship Application

The Charlotte County Jazz Society is proud to offer scholarships to the top qualifying members of the senior class of area high schools who wish to participate in music in college. Applicants must be a graduate of the class of 2025. In 2024, five area students earned scholarships from the Jazz Society, with the first place winner earning $5000.
Applicants must have applied at the college/university level for enrollment in the fall of 2025.

Each applicant will be required to audition before a panel of the Jazz Society. The auditions will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 5pm in the Port Charlotte High School band room. Students will be asked to perform a chromatic scale, major scales, and a solo showcasing their musical ability. The scales should be performed according to the Florida Bandmasters Association format. Three copies of the solo must be provided for the panel. A short sight-reading piece will end the audition. Proper performance attire is required for the audition.

Applicants are required to submit a short bio-sketch including any band activities and school honors, future goals, the college/university they will be attending, and what music means to them. A written letter of recommendation from the applicant’s music teacher and/or private teacher is required.

Scholarship winners will be announced in late March. Scholarships will be presented at the Jazz Society Concert on April 7, at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center in Punta Gorda. The concert starts at 7 pm.
